THE LAST remaining children at fire-hit St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Keighley are due to return to the classroom tomorrow.
Pupils are taking lessons on various parts of the school site in North Street while others have been moved to Holy Family School.
Alternative arrangements have been made while repairs are carried out to parts of the school affected by fire and smoke.
St Anne’s head teacher Sam Poulton has issued regular updates to parents over the past few days on the school’s website.
A fire broke out at the school on May 21, the day before the Spring Bank holiday, and although confined to a small office it burned through the mains electricity supply to the building.
Seven classrooms suffered smoke damage during the teatime incident, and the school was left with no water or electricity supply.
Pupils were told keep their children away from St Anne’s the following day, and after the half-term holiday the school remained closed for a week.
Mr Poulton said a little more than half the school had been affected by smoke.
