AN OFF-DUTY doorman at Bradford's Love Apple Cafe who chased away a troublemaker with a wooden mallet has been fined £2,500.
Jermaine McLeary, 32, took his chef's meat hammer from his car and brandished it to frighten the man off from outside the cafe, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
McLeary, 32, of Thornton Lane, Bradford, pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon at 2.15am on February 8.

The court heard that he worked part-time at the cafe, on Great Horton Road, and saw the man, who was barred from the premises, outside.
He saw him off, waving the wooden mallet, but did not attack him with it.
McLeary had the mallet in his car because he had been working as a chef that night, the court was told.
The father-of-two was sentenced to a 12 month community order with a rehabilitation requirement and the fine.
