THE victim of a scam ended up paying £650 for a bottle of cola after he forked out for what he thought were high end goods.
Police have now warned other members of the public to be vigilant if they are offered products in "too good to be true" deals.
The victim was offered electrical goods in a Bradford city street by two men with Irish accents, who were driving a blue van.
When he opened the box they gave him he found nothing but a bottle of cola.
The men were not captured on any CCTV.
A police spokesman said: "Please do not buy electrical goods from the back of vans on the street. The rule of thumb is if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
