FIRE FUNDS: David Bowers is raising money for the University of Bradford's Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit
A BRADFORD City fan based in Australia is aiming to raise £1 million for the city’s burns research unit, but still has a long way to go before hitting his target.
David Bowers (pictured), 43, who lives in Melbourne, wants to achieve his target by May 11, the anniversary of the 1985 fire which claimed 56 lives.
He is supporting the Bradford Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU), based at the city’s university which was set-up after the tragedy.
So far he has raised £340.
