A BEGGAR appeared in court yesterday.

Sean Collins, 54, of no fixed address, appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court (pictured).

Collins pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to leave the city centre when directed to do so by an officer on April 8 and April 11. The court heard he had been begging and was in breach of bail when he committed the second offence. His solicitor, Kam Dhesi, said his client was homeless and had no income. He had been detained on Saturday and spent two days in custody. District Judge Susan Bouch fined Collins £100 for each offence, but told him he would not have to pay because of the time he had spent in custody.
