THE owner of a Bradford music shop hopes its participation in international Record Store Day will also drum up trade for city shops.
The Record Cafe, in North Parade, which opened in November last year, sells vinyl records, real ale and ham at its city centre premises.
Now it will take part in Record Store Day on Saturday, April 18.
The event started in 2007 when more than 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture.
The UK followed suit and this year will see the eighth celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector.
It is the one day that all of the independently-owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances and performances at a host of shops.
Record Cafe staff hope to have bands playing live music in store and also limited edition records for sale, from 8am to 11pm.
