PLAIN clothes police officers seized a mini motorbike from a rider who had been annoying his neighbours over the weekend.

Officers from the Bradford District bike team were in Cottingley on Saturday evening looking for a small black, noisy bike that had been blighting neighbours with its noise for most of the afternoon.

At 8.20pm officers attended an address in Northfield Crescent when the rider came riding towards them and parked up in the drive of his home without realising the officers were stood right next to him.

The officers identified themselves and seized the bike. The rider was reported for summons and will appear in court for driving offences. He told officers he would not be seeking to recover the bike.

PC Joey Boswell said: “Hopefully this male will learn his lesson. This is an example of officers employing different tactics to combat this problem. The residents will be happy we have acted on their behalf and hopefully made the area a little quieter for them.”
