A BRADFORD charity has hosted a conference looking at the health needs of women in the city.

Healthy living centre Womenzone invited health professionals and community organisations to attend the event to learn and discuss the health and wellbeing needs of local people.

Speakers from the City Clinical Commissioning Group, Better Start project, Bradford University and City of Sanctuary were be there to speak about their work and what they are doing to improve health provisions in Bradford.

Womenzone Community Centre has been in BD3 for the past 12 years as a registered charity empowering and supporting women with their health and well-being needs -. Funds made from the event are going back into running local events and activities for women in Bradford.

The centre in Hubert Street, off Leeds Road, has gym facilities, runs keep fit classes including Zumba and has classes from IT to Zumba.English for Speakers of Other Languages as well as being a meeting place for women to relax and socialise in a safe environment and make new friends.

Support to organise the Big Health Event came from the Bradford City Clinical Commissioning Group, Bradford University, Bradford Trident and City of Sanctuary.
