BRADFORD secondary schools are being urged to join 113 others in the county by teaching pupils lifesaving CPR skills as part of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Nation of Lifesavers campaign.

The region is one of six across the UK in the running to become the first in the country equipped to train all its young people in CPR.

Since the campaign started, in October 2014, 113 schools have registered for Call Push Rescue, which enables schools to become completely self-sufficient in teaching the steps that could save a life.

Through the campaign BHF is calling for CPR to be a mandatory part of the secondary school curriculum and has received 4,067 petition signatures from Yorkshire.
