A PROPOSED development of shops and apartments has been refused.
Bradford Council refused the application by Ibrar Akram for two shops with two apartments above at 31 Whetley Lane, Girlington.
There used to be a bungalow on the site, but it has been demolished.
Planning officers’ report said: “The main concern is that the building is too tall and pays little heed to its setting. The proposal is considered to be unacceptable.”
