WEST Yorkshire Police has today launched a publicity campaign to find nine fugitives wanted on European arrest warrants, some of whom are thought to be in Bradford.
The force is appealing for information about the whereabouts of seven men and a woman from Eastern Europe, and a British man who has links to Pakistan.
They are all wanted on bench warrants issued by the City of Westminster Magistrates Court following their arrests on the European warrants. Most of them are thought to be in the West Yorkshire area.
They are wanted in connection with a variety of allegations and convictions and are not thought to be linked in any way, but failed to surrender for extradition.
Those with links to the Bradford area are Rafal Mieczyslaw Karczmar, 31, who was sentenced to two years imprisonment in his native Poland for 40 burglary offences and three arsons; another 31-year-old Pole, Wojciech Kamil Podolak, who was sentenced to two years imprisonment for robbery; Andras Angyal, 45; and Asif Alam, 41, a British national with links to Bradford and Pakistan, who faces charges of tax evasion in Germany.
