A SHOPLIFTER who took scissors to cut the labels off clothes to steal has been sentenced to four months custody, suspended for 12 months.
Aqueedat Kazmi, 20, of Gain Lane, Thornbury, Bradford, was also ordered to comply with 12 months supervision from the probation service and fined £100 at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Kazmi pleaded guilty to stealing Wrangler jeans valued at £39.99 from T K Maxx, Forster Square, Bradford, on November 11 and having scissors with him as a bladed article.
He damaged clothing to the value of £159 by snipping at the labels, the court heard.
Kazmi also admitted failing to answer court bail on December 16.
