A 37-YEAR-OLD Manningham man has been fined £100 today for using threatening or abusive language.

Jason Roe, of Queen's Road, was arrested after an altercation with fellow residents Mark Japhet and Mark Ingram on January 18 this year.

Roe was restrained by officers but still continued to swear and be aggressive towards Japhet. The property was divided up into separate flats where both Roe and Japhet lived.

Roe pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court this morning.

An additional charge of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, from the same day, was withdrawn.

He has 45 previous convictions for 86 offences, mostly theft, between 1996 and last year, the court heard.

Roe was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Deputy District Judge Richard Manning told Roe: "This was absolutely stupid.

"Officers have been taken off the streets because you can't behave yourself."
