A TRUSTEE of the Beamsley Project has just complete a goal to walk 1,000 miles in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Lynda Duttine, of Ilkley, set herself the challenge in January 2014.
“Over the year I have walked a great deal in Yorkshire, but also with friends and family in Scotland, Bedfordshire, South Wales, London, Majorca and Amsterdam.
“My most regular local walks have been along the beautiful riverside between Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales,” she said.
She undertook the final leg of her challenge at North Berwick.
“We crossed the line as we looked over the Firth of Forth, across the wonderful view to Bass Rock and the coastline of Fife, and with a surprise bottle of champagne to mark the moment,” she said.
The challenge raised £3,500.
