DAREDEVIL fundraisers are lining up to throw themselves out of a plane to support two Bradford charities.

The 15,000ft Celebrity Skydive Challenge is a joint fundraiser between One in a Million, which supports disadvantaged children, and the Bradford Bulls Foundation, which helps encourage children to play sport.

England footballer Danny Mills, who played for Leeds United and Manchester City; former Yorkshire and England cricketer Anthony McGrath and Bulls' chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul are all taking the leap.

Mr Hunter-Paul said it was in his New Zealand blood to try "crazy things".

I've done plenty of crazy things in my time," he added.

"I don't think the nerves will kick in until you stand on the edge of that door and look out.

"It's something I've always wanted to do, but never had the chance.

"My wife has given me the opportunity to do it just this once. I'm looking forward to it."

Mr Hunter-Paul said the challenge was for a good cause and the Foundation hoped to work with up to 100,000 children in 2015.

The Bulls' boss has also persuaded Telegraph & Argus business sales executive Richard Ashton to take part.

Mr Ashton said he agreed because the event was supporting a great cause and it was a once in a lifetime experience.

"This is by far pushing me from my comfort zone," he said.

"The Bulls are great partners, and being Bradford-born I see the benefits the foundation is having on young Bradfordians.

"I'm sure the whole event and lead up will all be in good humour. I'm pushing to raise £500."

Twenty people will jump for each charity with a fundraising target of up to £15,000.

Bradford Bulls Foundation general manager Mark Winder said ten people had signed up so far.

"We've had quite a lot of interest and we're expecting some more interest once the season starts. We've got half the places filled already," he said.

"It's been better than expected. We'll hopefully be meeting out target in the next couple of weeks."

One in a Million director Craig McHugh said the charity needed to find only five more volunteers.

"It's been a great response," he said.

"The people that we've got can each raise between £500 and £1,000 to help the disadvantaged communities that we help."

The charity, whose ambassadors include Danny Mills and Anthony McGrath, works with Bradford City and up to 750 children every week.

It runs a community-based projects in eight centres running activities including football, indoor athletics, dance and educational and creative arts programmes.
