A TEENAGER had his mountain bike stolen by a group of men in Bradford after being sprayed in the face with aerosol and punched.

The 18-year-old victim was walking along Mount Avenue in Eccleshill when he was approached by some Asian males who demanded his phone and money.

Then they sprayed an aerosol can in his face and punched him, before running off with the victim's bike towards Norman Lane.

Police today released this e-fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 8pm on December 16.

The victim suffered soreness and reddening to his eyes as a result of the attack, but is not thought to have suffered any permanent damage to his eyesight.

The main suspect is described as being aged between 17 and 21 years of age and about 6ft tall. He was of athletic build, with short black hair and a thin moustache and was wearing a grey tracksuit with blue stripes down the legs and arms.

Detective Inspector Paula Bickerdike, of Bradford District CID, said: "This was a serious offence involving the use of a weapon, which could have resulted in life-changing injuries for the victim.

"We urge anyone who recognises this male from this image, or by the description, to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw a group of males acting suspiciously in the area, close to Delph Park, in the time leading up to, or shortly after the attack as they may have information which could prove vital to this investigation."
