RENEWED investigations into what needs to be done to stop water cascading down two streets in Haworth have now begun, according to a Bradford Council officer.

Tony Poole, principal engineer for drainage for the district council, was responding to concerns of Haworth resident Graham Smith relating to water pouring down Sun Street and Cold Street during wet weather.

Mr Poole said: “The current issue was investigated and other than being able to confirm it was watercourse related it was not possible to determine if it was a recurrence of the previous issue or a new one.

“A trial hole is required to enable further investigations to take place before a course of remedial action can be identified.

“A request has been made to the area highway manager to arrange for a trial hole to be dug so we can carry out a CCTV survey to locate the defect or obstruction.”
