CHILDREN’S mental health is the top health issue parents in Yorkshire worry about, a survey has found.

A total of 36 per cent of parents were most concerned with the emotional wellbeing and mental health of their children.

Diet and weight (33 per cent) and suffering from serious illnesses (26 per cent) were the second and third highest worries respectively. The poll of 2,000 UK parents found mothers were particularly likely to worry about their children’s mental wellbeing. The research was carried out for charity Action for Children.
