A PLAN for major refurbishment work at Bradford's two main railway stations is likely to go out to consultation later this year, it has emerged.
Masterplans for Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square have been developed with funding from the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund.
Bradford Council is working with West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Network Rail to move forward to the next stage of feasibility work.
This will involve more detailed design and costings.
A Council document containing an update on the station improvement schemes said: "This next stage will involved public consultation on the proposals and we envisage that this will take place during 2015.
"The aspiration is to deliver all the improvements to Forster Square by 2021, earlier if feasible, and phase one of improvements at Bradford Interchange by the same date."
Meanwhile, a package of car park extensions at rail stations has been identified, with feasibility studies due to be carried out at Menston, Shipley and Steeton & Silsden.
