Halifax Town 3, Redditch Utd 1

Halifax boss Chris Wilder has set his sights on the new-look Wembley after his side reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy for the first time in their history.

A double from Lewis Killeen and a third goal in three games for new recruit Darryn Stamp saw the Shaymen dreaming of the hallowed turf.

Halifax are now fifth from bottom in the Conference, level on points with third-bottom Cambridge, but with two or more games in hand and Wilder wants something positive from the season.

Wilder said: "I believe we can win the FA Trophy and the added incentive of the final possibly being played at the new Wembley makes this competition very important. I want to salvage something from our season."

German under-19 winger Felix Bastians, on loan from Nottingham Forest, was outstanding and outclassed the part-timers from Redditch.

Halifax, who put out Trophy favourites Oxford in the last round, were on top throughout the first half but the opener only came seconds before the break when Killeen flicked home Gus Uhlenbeek's cross.

Stamp claimed his third goal in three appearances - two starts and one from the bench - when he made it 2-0 seven minutes after the restart.

A lack of concentration at the back allowed substitute Dave Walker to pull one back and the Shaymen were made to fight after that.

Walker had a shot cleared off the line by Jake Wright but Halifax kept going and Killeen produced another smart finish to seal it three minutes from time.
