A FUNERAL directors has helped light up Christmas in Eccleshill after making a £300 donation.
The Cooperative Funeralcare, in Norman Lane, Five Lane Ends, gave the cash to Eccleshill Village Steering Group, which fixed the Christmas lights on Eccleshill Mechanics Institute Centre (pictured).
The funeral home donated the money in time for the village’s Christmas lights switch-on.
Claire O’Neill, vice-treasurer of Eccleshill Village Steering Group, said: “We are very grateful to The Cooperative Funeralcare for their donation.”
“The icicle feature has always decorated the front of the community centre but was faulty last year and so couldn’t be used but it was really missed as people can see it for miles around.”
