IDLE and Thackley Theatre Group is getting into the panto season with a lively production of Beauty and the Beast.

The family show is the theatre group’s 26th annual pantomime.

It remains faithful to the classic story, but with a fun script written especially for the group by David Ayres, who also takes on the role of the Beast.

Belle, the Beauty of the show, is played by Emma Burton, and Liam Hunter will be pulling on an assortment of wigs and heels to play the part of Tina Coffee the pantomime Dame. Emma and Liam also have an off-stage drama of their own coming up – the pair are due to get married in the new year.

The production features more than 30 children from the group’s junior section, ITKids.

Beauty and the Beast runs at Idle and Thackley Little Theatre on December 5, 10, 11 and 12 at 7.30pm and December 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 2.30pm.
