BRADFORD Council planners have refused plans for the construction of an industrial unit in Manningham.
Nissar Hussain applied to build the unit on Thorncliffe Road on the parking area of another industrial unit. A similar application was refused in 2010, which was later upheld by a planning inspector on appeal.
Refusing the application earlier this week, planning officers said: “The building would therefore appear highly prominent, overly dominant and incongruous.
“The proposed unit would reduce the amount of off-street parking available, leading to increased pressures for already limited on-street parking. The size and position of the building would also prevent safe manoeuvring of delivery vehicles into and out of the site. As such, the proposal would result in significant detrimental impact on pedestrian and highway safety.”
