WEST Yorkshire Police has issued a warning about companies making cold-calls to sell bogus advertising space in ‘police publications’.
Any firms who are approached with advertising offers have been told they are only genuine if authorised in writing by the force.
“West Yorkshire Police has an internal magazine for its staff and retired police officers,” said a spokesman.
“If you are contacted, take the callers name and inform them you will call them back through the police call centre to verify their identity.”
