FILM lovers are enjoying a run of cult classic films currently being shown on a huge HD screen in Saltaire’s Victoria Hall.
The screenings have been made possible through the National Media Museum’s Cine North project, funded by the National Lottery, to bring quality digital cinema within everyone’s reach.
On Friday the chairs and tables were almost full for a viewing of Pan’s Labyrinth directed by Guillermo del Toro.
While the bar remained open, the audience stayed stuck to seats by the clashing narratives of this savage and surreal masterpiece.
Events assistant Marie Walder said word was spreading about watching films at the unique venue.
“There’s such a great atmosphere because of the building and decoration.”
The final film show at Victoria Hall this year is the much-anointed Withnail & I on Saturday, December 13.
