THE JURY in the trial of four men accused of conspiracy to rape was today resuming its deliberations.
The panel retired to consider the verdicts at Bradford Crown Court late yesterday morning.
Trainee mechanic Wakar Akhtar, 21, of Hudson Avenue, Canterbury, Bradford; pizza chef Najeem Ul-Saeed, 31, of Beaumont Road, Girlington, Bradford; cab driver Tamseel Virk, 42, of Marten Road, Canterbury and Azad Raja, 38, of Hudson Avenue, have all pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to rape a schoolteacher in the early hours of May 26.
The prosecution alleges that Ul-Saeed instructed Virk to drive the drunk woman in his private hire vehicle to Bradford’s Great Horton Park.
Then Akhtar and his uncle, Asad Raja, took turns to have sex with her on a bench.
