British Transport Police today appealed for information after a train windscreen was smashed by a stone slab thrown from a rail bridge near Usher Street in Bradford.
The incident happened as the 6.23pm Selby to Manchester Victoria train, which was full of passengers, was approaching Bradford Interchange.
Inspector Granville Sellers, of British Transport Police, said: “The slab was thrown at the train as it passed under the bridge. It smashed the outer glass pane of the windscreen but then luckily bounced off the windscreen wipers.
“The driver was extremely shaken by the incident but fortunately was unhurt."
Police said the incident occurred on November 13 at about 7.30pm and urged anyone with information to contact on 0800 405040, or text 61016 quoting PSUB/B3 of 14/11/2014.
