SOME of the best children's entertainment will be on show in Bradford on Saturday.

CBBC presenters Ben Shires and Katie Thistleton will host a roadshow at the National Media Museum, featuring nominees for this year's BAFTA Children's Awards.

The BAFTA Kids: Behind the Scenes in Bradford event, open to children aged seven to 12, will include a mix of live demonstrations, behind-the-scenes films and interviews with some of those shortlisted.

There will also be the chance for parents and children to take part in challenges, question and answer sessions and audience interaction.

The likes of Postman Pat, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Spongebob Squarepants will be battling it out for the BAFTAs.

Ben and Katie will be chatting to Shorelle Hepkin and director Jermain Julien, from CBBC drama Wolfblood and Stranger Hill High animation director Chris Tichborne at the session held at museum between 10.30am and noon.

Award categories include channel of the year, factual, animation and feature film.

Dean Loughran, planning and special projects executive at the National Media Museum, said: "The Media Museum is one of three places in the country which have been featured on this roadshow from BAFTA.

"It's great for us to get it and also great for Bradford.

"We’re really excited and proud to be hosting this fun BAFTA roadshow where Bradford’s seven to 12-year-olds can find out what the BAFTAs are all about and hear from the stars and film-makers about what goes into producing their favourite shows."

The winners of each of the 20 categories will be announced at a ceremony held on November 23. In the meantime, children can vote for favourite at baftakidsvote.org.
