HIT West End show Shrek the musical is coming to Bradford.

Tickets go on sale for the show on Monday for the show, based on the much-loved DreamWorks Animations movie series about a loveable ogre.

It comes to the Alhambra for three weeks on a UK tour direct from London, where it has been seen by nearly a million people.

Casting has yet to be announced but the show is directed by former EastEnders actor Nigel Harman, who won an Olivier award as Lord Farquaad in the original West End production of Shrek.

This production is visually stunning, and the story has the magic ingredient of moving at great pace while still being surprisingly intimate. I can't wait to take this show on the road."

Producer Nick Salmon added: "We are very excited to be bringing Shrek the Musical to the Alhambra Theatre as part of our tour of the best venues across the UK and Ireland. We know the people of Bradford will take Shrek to their hearts."

Shrek the Musical opened on Broadway in 2008 before touring America and Canada. There have since been productions in countries such as Spain, Poland, China, Brazil, Estonia and Turkey.

Shrek runs at the Alhambra from September 9 to 26, 2015. Tickets will be available on (01274) 432000.
