The joint funerals of the Lad family are taking place in Bradford this morning.

An estimated 300 mourners have arrived at Scholemoor Crematorium, in Necropolis Road.

Police were called to Jitendra Maganbhai Lad and Dukshaben Lad's family home in Blackberry Way, Clayton, at about 8.30pm last Monday by concerned relatives and neighbours.

Officers entered the house and found the bodies of Mr and Mrs Lad and their two daughters Trisha Jitendra Lad, 19, and Nisha Jitendra Lad, 16.

Mr Lad was found hanged and the others were discovered stabbed in their beds. Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

It is believed Mr Lad killed his wife and daughters before taking his own life - a revelation which has shocked the close community who have been leaving flowers outside the house.

Trisha and Nisha were brought to the crematorium in horse-drawn white carriages, and two hearses carrying their parents followed.

Earlier, a traditional Hindu ceremony took place.
