PUPILS at one of Bradford’s oldest schools have been shown round what will become their new library.
In 2015 Bradford Grammar School on Keighley Road will open its “21st century Library,” which is under construction. The library will have open-plan study areas, computer facilities and dedicated areas for the Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form.
There will also be a video conferencing and an archive room. Artefacts that have been recovered by the school will be displayed, demonstrating the school’s rich heritage. Primary pupils at the school have been shown round the inside of the building’s site in full safety gear by school health and safety manager Barry Thorn, giving them a sneak peek of what the library will look like.
Based on their visit, they will design a health and safety poster for a school competition.
Headteacher Kevin Reiley said: “The aim of the project is to create a traditional yet innovative library at the heart of the school, which will be a fundamental part of the pupil learning experience.”
