FOUR people have been arrested after police raided a suspected brothel in Bierley.

Two women, aged 20 and 25, and two men, aged 27 and 30, were arrested from a residential property in Brompton Road on suspicion of managing or keeping a brothel.

Officers also seized around £1,000 after executing a warrant at the premises last night.

All four were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Tom Casey of the Bradford District Vice Team, said: “These types of establishments operating in a community can be particularly harmful and are actually a form of anti-social behaviour.

“The fact that local residents had the confidence to come forward and report this to the police, underlines the positive relationship we have at a neighbourhood level.

“People know that if they tell us when and where it is happening, we will take action and make a difference to their quality of life.

“We have seen some significant reductions in anti-social behaviour over the last year and this work is part of that.

“If you know of such offences happening where you live, please let us know by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via our non emergency number 101 and we will quickly act to deal with it."
