BRADFORD Council has passed the first step in its attempt to achieve a Gold Standard award for its homelessness services.
Run by the National Practitioner Support Service, it is a framework that local authorities can work with to demonstrate they are delivering efficient and cost-effective homelessness prevention services.
The Gold Standard is a voluntary process but 97 per cent of local authorities have signed up to strive towards it.
Cllr Val Slater (pictured), Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Housing, Planning and Transport, said: “I am really pleased with the results from the peer review.
“The Housing Options service was only transferred back to the Council in February, so to reach the pass mark so early during the transition phase is a real achievement.”
