TWO hundred women wore something pink to an "electric" event in Bradford and helped raise £6,000 for a cancer charity.

The Midland Hotel played host to the annual pink luncheon in aid of Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale.

Activities included a music game, auctions, raffle and tombola. Among the auction items were the use of a Mini for a weekend, the use of a hot tub for a weekend, photo sessions, and a Manchester United shirt signed by midfielder Michael Carrick.

Organiser Linda Enderby said: "It was amazing. Two hundred ladies in the room, it was electric - the room was absolutely electric."

She added: "We had quite a new audience this year. I think word has got out what a fantastic event it is. There were quite a few tables of people who have not been before.

"People just threw themselves into it.

"The whole point of the afternoon is to make it fun, but on the serious side to raise money for charity. Everyone got behind it 100 per cent."
