YOUTH work in the south of Bradford has been praised by councillors.
The Bradford South area committee has heard about the work being done with young people in a variety of neighbourhoods.
Youth work in the Tong ward has seen young people from Holme Wood and Bierley mixing together more often, creating less tension in the area, the meeting heard.
Councillor David Warburton (Lab, Wyke) said as a 'Bierley lad' himself, he knew how long the problem had been going on.
He said: "It has been going on for 60 years. To get those people to come together, if you can get that to work, that is a fabulous achievement."
Many councillors said what a difference youth work was making to their areas, with Councillor Alan Wainwright (Lab, Tong) telling staff to "keep up the good work".
