A YORKSHIRE delegation travelled to Paris to fly the county flag at the Tour de France press conference.
The team from Welcome to Yorkshire attended the Palais des Congrès along with 5,000 journalists from around the world to celebrate the Yorkshire Grand Depart of the Tour de France, with race organisers ASO paying tribute to the huge success of the event last summer.
The event follows news that scriptwriters are working on a film adaptation of the county’s successful bid for the world’s largest annual sporting event.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Unforgettable, momentous and unbelievable are all words we’ve been fortunate enough to hear describe the Yorkshire Grand Depart, which makes the team at Welcome to Yorkshire feel incredibly proud.
“Now, a year on, we officially hand over to Utrecht.”
