ART students from Bradford could see their work featured by Grand Central Rail on its new bags for life.

To celebrate a student discount offer, the rail operator is searching for its first ever student artist to submit a design for the bags.

The theme is "Direct to London", with the winner getting a year of free train travel on Grand Central services and their artwork featured on the bags for life.

Sean English, general manager at Grand Central, said: “At Grand Central we have a tradition of supporting local artists and art establishments and we know that there is a lot of great emerging talent in Yorkshire and the North East.

“We are committed to the communities we serve and with a number of universities and colleges based along our routes, we wanted to give something back to our regular student travellers with this competition, and indeed with our student discount offer. I'm looking forward to seeing the creative entries and unveiling the winner.”

Grand Central has introduced a further ten per cent off advance train fares when booking with an NUS extra card.

The competition closes on October 31, 2014.
