BUDDING chefs at a Bradford primary school invited their parents to school to show them their new kitchen.
Reevy Hill Primary School in Buttershaw was awarded £10,000 by the Big Lottery Fund towards its Cook, Eat and Be Healthy project.
The grant has been used to develop a fully-fitted kitchen and dining area in the school, which will help children to learn to cook as part of their school curriculum.
It is also hoped that the community could benefit from the facility, as the school will be offering courses designed to improve family life by getting families to cook together.
Head teacher Jo Bradley said: “Our children thoroughly enjoy cooking so receiving this funding will help us to teach the requirements of the new curriculum while allowing opportunities for our families to cook and eat meals together.”
Last month the school was told it was was successful in bidding for £30,000 from the National Lottery to install new sports equipment.
