A BAD character application by prosecutors against a haulage company has been rejected by a judge.
Kintore Transport Haulage was brought before Bradford Crown Court yesterday as prosecutors argued the firm had a “propensity” for not complying with animal by-product requirements, as it had faced three previous counts of the same charge in 2012.
The Halifax-based company is due to appear before the court on November 5 to face an offence of failing to comply with animal by-product requirements, by failing to ensure waste was carried in a covered leak-proof container or vehicle in Station Road, Wilsden, on June 7 last year.
Nicholas de la Poer, for the company, said: “The application is so poor there is no need for me to produce any evidence.”
Judge John Potter confirmed the application had been refused.
