Tributes to councillors
TRIBUTES were paid last night to two former councillors who have died since the full authority last met.
Lord Mayor Mike Gibbons told the full meeting of Bradford Council that Valerie Binney, who served the Thornton and Allerton wards as a Conservative for 19 years, “embodied everything good in a councillor”, and spoke of the “considered and dedicated” approach of Liberal Democrat Grahame Thornton to constituents in his Baildon ward.
