RAPPER Kie Routh, who uses his music to turn the tables on his anxiety attacks, has been talent-spotted by a music producer.

The 23-year-old warehouse worker, of Bierley, Bradford, says being stuck in a crowded shopping centre would put him in a panic but give him a microphone in a nightclub and he forgets all his fears.

"Music's been my saviour. It's my escape from all my worries - I just go into my own little world. I suffer badly from depression and anxiety but deejaying and rapping makes me feel better," he said.

Kie's problems began when he was 13 and his parents split up, he started to rebel and left Yorkshire Martyrs School in Tong with no qualifications.

"I missed the whole back end of my education. I wasn't an idiot, I had a brain in my head but I just started to rebel, I didn't want to use it in the classroom.

"I started using music back then as a way of feeling okay, I was a bit of a bedroom boy rapper and it just went on from there to me writing my own lyrics and producing my own sounds but I always had a dream that I would be a recording star and I'm not going to give up on that."

Kie has now been talent-spotted by music producer James Sammon who has great hopes for his music career. The pair now have four dance-type 'Jackin House' club tracks in production and a website is being designed.

Kie is hoping James will be the man to led him to fame and fortune.

Before his promoter and producer days James had a hit of his own when Blurred got to Number 6 in the UK charts in1996 under the alias of Pianoman and he has worked with a host of other musicians including Ian Brown, Craig David and Donna Air.

"Working with James has really given me a boost. It's an opportunity I'm grabbing with both hands and I'm not going to let go.

I'm hoping to get my name known, do more night club work and build up a fan based - ultimately I'd like to get a record deal, it's always be my dream and that's something that will never change," said Kie whose all-time idol is Michigan rapper Eminem.

James added: "I'm very excited about this project with Kie."
