A WOMAN fought off a robber in Bradford city centre after he put his hand over her mouth and demanded her property.
The 21-year-old was walking along Sunbridge Road at about 2pm on Wednesday when a man tried to speak to her.
He then demanded she hand over her stuff before muffling her attempted screams. There was then an altercation and the woman managed to scream for help.
The man ran off towards Sackville Street empty-handed. The woman was shaken but not hurt.
Police want any witnesses to the incident to come forward. The man is described as white, about 6ft tall, slim, and aged in his 20s. He was wearing a grey hooded top with jeans or tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Inspector Richard Partis, of Bradford District CID, said: "There were a lot of people in the Sunbridge Road area at that time of day and it is very likely that someone will have witnessed this incident or seen the suspect as he fled."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC1926 Linda McFarlane at Bradford District CID on 101. Alternatively, ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
