A 63-YEAR-OLD man, who admitted dishonestly obtaining benefits, has been warned he could face prison.

Mohammed Bhatti, of Roydstone Road, Bradford Moor, Bradford, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to two charges of dishonest representation for the obtaining of benefits - Income Support and Council Tax Benefit - in 2004, by failing to declare the true extent of his property.

He denied a third charge, involving Pension Credit in February 2012.

Prosecutor Claire Benson said the pleas were acceptable, subject to the full over payment including the Pension Credit. She said the Crown would apply for a confiscation timetable when the case came to sentence.

Bhatti was granted unconditional bail until the sentencing hearing on November 7.

But Judge Peter Benson said: "I am going to adjourn sentence so probation can prepare a report on you and your personal circumstances. You must understand the court will be considering all sentencing options, including prison."
