A MAN from Bradford sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash on the M62 near Chain Bar last night after a driver apparently entered the wrong carriageway from a service station.
The Bradford man, a 37-year-old who was driving a Vauxhall Zafira, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
A 40-year-old woman from Holmfirth, driving an Audi A1, also suffered serious injuries, not believed to be life threatening.
A 29-year-old man from Ilkley, who was driving a Ford Kuga, was treated at the scene for slight injuries.
It is understood the vehicle travelling the wrong way was involved in collisions with several other cars but the main impact was a head-on collision.
Following the collision the M62 westbound had to be closed between junctions 25 and 26, with the sliproad from the M606 onto that motorway also closed.
The road reopened at 3.20am this morning.
