A MAN was stabbed in the back during a fight after two cars collided on a busy Bradford street on Monday evening.

Police in Bradford are investigating the incident which took place at about 5pm on St Leonards Road, Bradford on October 6.

"It took place after two cars were in collision. It is believed the occupants of the cars then began fighting.

"During the incident a 29-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury which is serious, but not life threatening," a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

A local resident in Weetwood Road said her neighbours had taken blankets to wrap round the heavily bleeding man until paramedics arrived at the scene.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg of Bradford Reactive CID, said: " We are continuing to investigate the precise circumstances of what took place.

"Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have been carrying out reassurance patrols in the area.
