TWO stolen vehicles have been recovered in the Buttershaw area of Bradford by a member of the police "quad squad."

PC Joey Boswell, of the Bradford district bike team, was on patrol when he saw a silver road race style motorcycle being ridden at speed. The rider saw the officer and tried to avoid him by riding over the raised kerb of a cul de sac but was his escape was brought to an end by a car in his path.

Pc Boswell caught up with the rider and saw the bike had no ignition barrel, was ‘hot wired,’ and also had a registration plate that related to another vehicle. The man tried to escape but PC Boswell held on to him until other officers attended to assist him.

He was arrested and inquiries are continuing with regards the bike's real identity.

The next day the officer was called to Holme wood to a report of a stolen scooter being ridden around the area.

Within minutes he saw the scooter with a male riding it towards him. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, ran off dumping the scooter nearby, which has been returned to its owner.

Inquiries are continuing to arrest the rider who was filmed on a helmet camera by PC Boswell .

He said: “The anti-social bike squad are not just here for nuisance bikes. We deal with a number of bike-related matters including aspects such as this and road traffic matters. If you take the risk of using a vehicle illegally on the roads, you risk being caught and prosecuted.”
