A man has today admitted killing Bradford student Anowar Tagabo.
Nathan Tomlinson, 23, of Lowedges, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on November 13.
Mr Tagabo, 25, was attacked in Sheffield, but was studying peace and development at the University of Bradford.
A post-mortem examination concluded that he had died from a head injury.
Senior Investigating Officer Natalie Shaw said: “Mr Tagabo was a talented young man with his life ahead of him which was snatched from him in a moment of madness by Tomlinson.
“The defendant’s guilty plea has spared Mr Tagabo’s family the ordeal of a trial which is some small consolation.”
Three other men were also arrested in connection with Mr Tagabo’s death. Two have been released without charge and a 24-year-old man remains on police bail.
