TWO people have been taken to hospital after a two car smash in Oakenshaw this morning, which is still causing delays on routes in and out of Bradford.

The rush-hour accident, involving a Ford Ka and a Peugoet 107, happened on Bradford Road, near the entrance to Cleckheaton Golf Club, at around 8.45am.

The road remains closed in both directions.

A 50 year-old man, the driver of one of the vehicles, has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary after suffering breathing difficulties and a female driver is receiving precautionary check-ups at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

The incident led to very slow traffic backing up between the Wyke Lane junction and the Chain Bar roundabout at junction 26 of the M62.

The road closure is still causing delays in the area, with no confirmed re-opening time as yet.
