A BRADFORD man washed down a bacon sandwich with some water from the River Aire when he stopped in Bingley during a 112-mile charity challenge.
Robin Naylor is travelling, in a canoe, from Malham Tarn to the Humber Bridge over five days - and drinking the river's water along the way.
He is raising money for Aquabox, a charity that sends water filtration boxes to places all over the world where fresh water is not readily available. He is using an Aquabox to clean the Aire water for him to drink.
As part of the challenge, Mr Naylor called in at Bradford and Bingley Sports Club for nourishment and refreshment. He met the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons at the club, before setting off again on his journey.
Mr Naylor is due at the Humber Bridge at 7.30pm tomorrow.
