LUCKY for this 14-year-old horse called Gypsy that its rescuers were able to pull it safely out of the water after it tumbled from a nearby field into the River Calder.
A fire crew from Brighouse was called to Brearly Lane, Luddenden Foot, just before 9.30am on Wednesday when the horse could not climb out by itself.
A Technical Rescue Officer attended the scene as well as the water rescue crew from Brighouse White Watch and a vet. A suitable place was found along the river and the horse was walked out uninjured.
